Renovation of a mixed-use development in Pensacola, Florida. Completed plans call for the renovation of a religious / funeral development; and warehouse / distribution facility.
Summary This project will involve repairing damages to the facility caused by a vehicle accident in September 2024. Repairs will include, but not limited to, exterior envelope, interior walls, electrical panel, gypsum board, painting, etc. Background In the early morning hours of September 12, 2024, a truck, traveling southwest on West Fairfield Drive approaching West Texar Drive, failed to negotiate the turn, crashing into the northwest corner of the Sheriff's Warehouse. The truck went through the exterior wall and into the building causing additional damage to interior components and finishes. The building, constructed in 2005, is a pre-engineered metal building supported on a slab-on-grade foundation with thickened edges. The roof system is comprised of a standing seam roof supported on purlins that span between rigid frames. The exterior walls of the building are comprised of metal panels above elevations 10'-0". Below elevation 10'-0", a portion is comprised of metal wall panels, and the balance is split face CMU veneer. The metal wall panels follow conventional metal building construction with wall girts spanning between rigid frames. However, the split face veneer is backed by light gauge stud infill.
