Reference Number 0000287569 Question Acceptance Deadline 2025/02/24 03:00:00 PM CST The Contractor shall be responsible for the layout, fabrication, supply and delivery, including offloading of a precast cable trench system (the “Goods”) at the Rowatt Switching Station (the “Site”). Rowatt Switching Station is located at NE-36-15-19-W2M. Cable Trench Fabrication As per the supplied Cable Trench Layout drawing, the Contractor shall be responsible for finalizing the layout of the trench system based on the specific product line. The Contractor shall also determine the most effective location of all cable trench joints, specific sizes for special pieces (i.e. channel corners, T-sections, cross-connections, connections between different size channels) and sizes for end caps. 2.1 Cable Trench Cable trench shall be fabricated from a non-metal dielectric material, shall be nonporous and shall resist the degrading action of freeze/thaw cycles. The trench shall be self-supporting and equipped with easy access covers. For 45 degree corners and T connections, connection plates shall be provided by the vendor to secure gaps so no crushed rock or pit run can penetrate through trench from walls. For straight runs of cable trenches, provide mounting hardware such that adjacent cable trenches do not separate over time. 2.2 Access Covers All access covers for the Precast Cable Trench shall conform to the following specifications unless otherwise specified by the Engineer. Covers shall be fabricated from a non-metal dielectric material, shall be nonporous and shall resist the degrading action of freeze/thaw cycles. Unless otherwise specified, all covers shall be capable of H-20 loading conditions 14,500 kg (32,000 lbs) per axle. Lids capable of H-40 loading 29,000 kg (64,000 lbs) shall also be supplied for locations where heavy load road crossings are specified on the drawings. The Contractor is to provide cable trench cover lifting tool which shall provide a means to lock in place when lifting covers and be ergonomically designed to be safely operable by a maximum of 2 personnel.
