The purpose of this project is to reconstruct and improve approximately .33 miles of Nutter Chapel Road in Conway, AR. This project consists of Clearing and Grubbing, Earthwork, Aggregate Base Course, ACHM Binder and Surface Courses, Curb & Gutter, Concrete Sidewalk, Storm Sewer, Thermoplastic Pavement, Wheelchair Access Ramps, Maintenance of Traffic, Concrete Driveways, Erosion Control Items, and Misc. Items. Proposals shall be accompanied by a cashier's or certified check upon a national or state bank in an amount not less than five per cent (5%) of the total maximum bid price payable without recourse to City of Conway, Arkansas, or a bid bond in the same amount from a reliable surety company, as a guarantee that the Bidder will enter into a contract and execute performance and payment bonds within ten(10) days after notice of award of Contract to him. The notice of award of Contract shall be given by the Owner within sixty (60)days following the opening of bids. The successful Bidder must furnish a performance bond and a separate payment bond upon the forms provided herein in the amount of one hundred percent(100%) of the contract price from an approved surety company holding a permit from the State of Arkansas to act as surety, or other surety or sureties acceptable to the Owner. The attention of bidders is called to the fact that Act 150 of1965 (as amended), Arkansas Statutes, states that a Contractor must be licensed by the State Licensing Board for Contractors before he may undertake work when the cost thereof in Arkansas is Twenty Thousand Dollars($20,000.00) or more.
