Completed plans call for the addition of a 10,000-square-foot, three-story above grade theater / auditorium; for the demolition of a theater / auditorium; for the construction of a 10,000-square-foot, three-story above grade theater / auditorium; for the renovation of a theater / auditorium; and for site work for a theater / auditorium.

The City of Burlington invites bids for the renovation and addition to Paramount Theater located at 128 East Front Street, Burlington, NC 27215, as described in the contract documents. Work will include demolition of an existing 1-story building; construction of a new 3-story, 10,000 SF building with an occupiable roof deck; and upgrade/replacement of plumbing, mechanical, electrical, fire alarm systems as well as performance lighting, sound, rigging systems, and theater seating in the existing Paramount Theater. Bid Security in the amount of five percent (5%) of the Bid must accompany each Bid. This Bid Security shall be retained if the successful bidder fails to execute the contract within ten days after award or fails to give satisfactory surety as required herein. Pursuant to General Statues of North Carolina Section 143-128 and 143-131, the City of Burlington has established an overall goal of 10% participation by HUB Certified/Minority Businesses and encourages Certified Minority and Woman-Owned Business Enterprise (MWBE) businesses to participate in all aspects of the City's contracting and procurement programs. The City reserves the right to waive any informalities or to reject any or all bids or to award such contract as in its judgment is deemed to the best interest of the City.
