Renovation of an educational facility in San Francisco, California. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.

The estimated construction value of the work is $220,000. The Project is generally described as, but not limited to: Removal and disposal of five (5) existing packaged indoor heat pumps units in 5 classrooms and all related electrical and mechanical items; installation of five (5) new split heat pump systems for 5 classrooms; floor and wall patching work to match existing surrounding floor and walls; testing and commissioning of all new split heat pumps systems; and all associated architectural; electrical, mechanical and miscellaneous related work to complete the project. There is NO hazardous materials abatement work in the project. All Bid Proposals shall be submitted on forms furnished by the District. Bid Proposals must conform with, and be responsive to, the Bid and Contract Documents, copies of which may be obtained from the District as set forth above. Only Bid Proposals submitted to the District prior to the date and time set forth above for the public opening and reading of Bid Proposals shall be considered. 7. Contractor's License Classification. In accordance with the provisions of California Public Contract Code 3300, the District requires that Bidders possess the following classification(s) of California Contractors License at the time that the Bid Proposals are opened: Class B, General Building Contractor; C-4 Boiler, Hot Water Heating and Steam Fitting Contractor; OR C-20 Warm-Air Heating, Ventilating and Air-Conditioning Contractor. Any Bidder not so duly and properly licensed shall be subject to all penalties imposed by law. 8. Bid Security. Each Bid Proposal shall be accompanied by Bid Security in the form of: (a) cash, (b) a certified or cashier's check made payable to the District or (c) an original Bid Bond, in the form and content attached hereto, in favor of the District executed by the Bidder as a principal and a Surety as surety (the "Bid Security") in an amount not less than ten (10%) percent of the amount of the Total Base Bid. Bid Proposals shall not be withdrawn by any Bidder for a period of ninety (90) days after the opening of Bid Proposals. During this time, all Bidders shall guarantee prices quoted in their respective Bid Proposals. The District reserves the right to reject any or all Bid Proposals or to waive any irregularities or informalities in any Bid Proposal or in the bidding. DVBE Participation Goal. The District has a Disabled Veteran Business Enterprise (DVBE) Participation Goal Program (the DVBE Program) which establishes a three percent (3%) Participation Goal for DVBEs. All Bidders are required by the District, pursuant to the DVBE Program, to submit DVBE Worksheets that confirm two (2) advertisements were published at least 14 days prior to bid opening. The Contract for the Work, if awarded, will be by action of the District's Board of Education to the responsible Bidder who submitted the lowest priced responsive Total Base Bid Proposal. The District reserves the right to reject any or all Bid Proposals or to waive any irregularities or informalities in any Bid Proposal or in the bidding. Questions received less than seven (7) days prior to the date for opening Bids may not be answered. Only questions answered by formal written Addenda will be binding. Oral and other interpretations or clarifications will be without legal effect. The Agreement which the successful Bidder will be required to execute along with the forms and amounts of the Labor and Material Payment Bond, Performance Bond and other documents which will be required to be furnished are included in the Contract Documents and shall be carefully examined by the Bidder. The required number of executed copies of the Agreement and the form and content of the Performance Bond and the Labor and Material Payment Bond and other documents required at the time of execution of the Agreement will be specified by the SFUSD Contracts Office in its Notice of Recommendation to Award.
