The City of Kyle, hereafter called OWNER, is requesting Bids for furnishing all labor, materials, equipment, supervision, and incidentals, and for performing all Work required for the following: The Work consists of the installation of approximately 8,200 feet of sanitary sewer from the end of the existing Anthem segment in the Plum Creek Golf Course to a tie-in point with an existing sewer line south of FM 1626 along the UPRR ROW. Any proposal received later than the specified time, whether delivered in-person or by mail will be disqualified. The City of Kyle will not be responsible for late delivery from the post office or delivery to any location other than the one specified above. Responders are encouraged to hand deliver their proposals well ahead of opening time or follow up to confirm their proposals were received before the deadline. The City further reserves its right to reject all proposals for any reason or any proposal that does not contain all the information requested in this IFB. This IFB will be awarding the Plum Creek Golf Course Sewer Line All Bids shall be accompanied by an acceptable Bid guaranty in an amount of not less than five percent (5%) of the total Bid, as specified in Section 00100, Instructions to Bidders. The security shall be in the form of a certified check or cashier's check, or bid bond furnished by a reliable surety company having authority under the laws of Texas to write surety bond in the amount required, with such security made payable without recourse to the City of Kyle. Performance and payment bonds when required shall be executed on forms furnished by OWNER. Each bond shall be issued in an amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the Contract Amount by a solvent corporate surety company authorized to do business in the State of Texas, and shall meet any other requirements established by law or by OWNER pursuant to applicable law. Minimum insurance requirements are specified in Section 00810, Supplemental General Conditions. The prevailing wage rate for labor shall be paid to all workers in compliance with Government Code Chapter 2258. Contract Time is of the essence and all Work shall be substantially completed within two hundred and seventy days (270) Calendar Days after date specified in the Notice to Proceed, in accordance with the Bid Form, Section 00300. Final completion shall be achieved within thirty (30) Calendar Days after substantial completion. Liquidated damages are one thousand dollars ($1000) per Calendar Day for failure to substantially complete the work and five hundred ($500) dollars per Calendar Day for failure to achieve final completion within thirty (30) Calendar Days after substantial completion, in accordance with the Bid Form, Section 00300.
