CONSTRUCTION COST Approximately $9.7 million PROJECT LOCATION: Route 204 (Brooks Ave) from Route 33A (Chili Ave) to City of Rochester, Town of Gates, Monroe County PROJECT OBJECTIVE(S) Restore the pavement surface and maintain the integrity of the pavement structure. Increase accommodations within the transportation corridor for pedestrian and other nonmotorized forms of travel. Improve closed drainage system in the area of railroad bridge to reduce maintenance needs. Single course mill and resurfacing between Chili Ave and Buell Rd and multi-course mill and resurfacing between Buell Rd and the City of Rochester. Install sidewalk on the south side of Route 204 from Buell Rd to City of Rochester and on the north side of Route 204 from Chili Ave to Marilou Dr. Replace traffic signals at Buell Rd, Deep Rock Rd, and Wegmans driveway. Install new closed drainage and widen shoulders between Old Beahan Rd and Sprucewood Ln. Reconstruct pavement, widen shoulders, reface retaining walls and improve drainage at the railroad underpass. Railroad bridge is owned and maintained by Rochester & Southern and will not be replaced as part of this project. Offsite detour will utilize Buell Rd and Chili Ave. All other work will be accomplished utilizing temporary daily lane and/or shoulder closures with flagging as needed. NY Bike Route 5 will be detoured and accommodated on Buell Rd and Chili Ave. Access to all properties including the Rochester International Airport will be maintained throughout construction. Access for emergency vehicles will be maintained throughout construction. The method of Contractor Selection has not been Determined at this time.
