Description of the Work: The Work includes, but is not necessarily limited to the following: PART A - Flooring Base Bid: Bluejacket-Flint, Brookridge, Overland Park, and Sunflower Elementary Schools and SM South High School Flooring demolition includes removal of existing flooring and resilient base as noted at all locations shown on the drawings and prep/repair floor slabs - including crack repair as occurs - to receive new flooring. The project also consists of new walk-off carpet tile, new rubber tile flooring, new resilient base, and various new flooring transitions. Some touch-up painting as required is included in the scope. Alternate #1: Shawnee Mission West High School Flooring demolition includes removal of existing flooring at all locations shown on the drawings and prep/repair floor slabs - including crack repair as occurs - to receive new flooring. The project also consists of new walk-off carpet tile, new rubber tile flooring, and new resilient base. PART B - Ceilings Base Bid: Shawnee Mission South and Shawnee Mission West High Schools Ceiling demolition includes removal of existing suspended acoustical ceiling systems and light fixtures, and salvage of other MEP items in ceilings at locations shown on the drawings. Contractor to coordinate removal of remaining components of existing 12x12 suspended acoustical ceiling systems following abatement of said ceiling systems by separate owner-engaged contractor. The project also consists of new 24x24 suspended acoustical ceilings systems, reinstallation of salvaged MEP items in new ceilings, and coordination of locations and installation of new light fixtures under separate, concurrent lighting replacement project. Some touch-up painting as required is included in the scope. Bid Security: In the amount of five percent (5%) of the Bid must accompany each Bid in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders.
