Chemicals Bids will be acted upon at a Utility Board meeting on March 10, 2025. In general, the products consist of: Carbon Dioxide (CO2), Fluorosilicic Acid, Liquid Chlorine, Sodium Hypochlorite - 13%, Quicklime, Sodium Polyphosphate, Sulfuric Acid - 95%, Ammonia Sulfate, and Soda Ash Such bids are to provide for "Chemicals" for the (2) Water Plants and (1) Wastewater Plant. Each bid must be accompanied by: a certified check, cashier's check or draft, for five percent (5%) of the amount of the bid, such check to be certified or issued by either a State or National Bank, and payable to Brookings Municipal Utilities, or in lieu thereof, a bid bond for ten percent (10%) of the amount of the bid, such bond to be issued by the surety authorized to do business in this state and payable to Brookings Municipal Utilities. Brookings Municipal Utilities will retain the check or bond as liquidated damages if the successful Bidder refuses or fails to enter into a contract in accordance with the bid within fourteen (14) calendar days after receipt of Notice of Award. Payments will be authorized to be made in cash upon delivery and acceptance. Bids may not be withdrawn within thirty days after the actual opening thereof. Brookings Municipal Utilities reserves the right to waive irregularities and to reject any and all bids.
