The extent of work on this project is the furnishing of all labor, equipment, and materials for the construction of improvements in Manly, Iowa, generally described as follows: Contract 1: Sanitary sewer rehabilitation including cleaning and televising, heavy cleaning, approximately 6,454 LF of CIPP lining, 60 LF of pipe replacement, service grouting, manhole vertical lining of approximately 400 vertical feet, manhole grouting of 23 manholes, installation of one new manhole, new manhole castings at 20 locations, new manhole boxouts and castings at an additional 55 locations, manhole adjustments at 12 locations, installation of concrete fillets at 17 locations, street removal and replacement. This project also includes restoration of grassy areas, pavement, and granular surfacing. Work will be constructed in various locations throughout the City. Contract 2: Sanitary sewer collection system improvements including the removal of existing gravity sewer and installation of new gravity sewer for a total of approximately 810 LF, service reconnections using wyes, installation of sanitary sewer force main piping using trenchless methods of approximately 2,150 LF, installation of sanitary sewer force main with steel casing pipe using trenchless methods of approximately 200 LF, sanitary sewer abandonment using plug and fill methods of 1,185 LF, lift station improvements, installation of a sewage air release valve pit, manhole drop connection, and connection to existing manholes. In order to receive a refund, both Plans and Project Manual must be returned in complete and re-useable condition. In addition, they must be returned in said condition within fourteen days after award of the project. Failure to comply with either requirement will result in forfeiture of the deposit. Work includes, but is not limited to, to the construction of site work, electrical/mechanical work associated with the improvements, as well as start-up services and restoration. Contract I – Substantial Completion May 30, 2026 Final Completion June 30, 2026 Contract II – Substantial Completion May 30, 2026 Final Completion June 30, 2026 Davis-Bacon and Related Acts and federal prevailing wage rates apply to this project. All provisions relative to those acts must be met. Each bid must be made out on a Bid Form furnished in the Project Manual and obtained from SEH or on a computerized Bid Form furnished by the bidder. Bid Forms furnished by the bidder shall replicate the Bid Form furnished in the Project Documents Manual. Each bid shall be sealed in an envelope marked “Bid for the Sanitary Sewer Collection System Phase I Improvements Project”. Each bid must be accompanied in a separate envelope by a bidding check or bid bond in an amount equal to five percent (5%) percent of the bid price, said check being either a certified or cashier's check, drawn on a bank in Iowa, or a bank chartered under the laws of the United States, or a Certified share draft drawn on a credit union in Iowa or chartered under the laws of the United States, and made payable to the City of Manly, Iowa, as security that the bidder will furnish the required bonds and enter into a contract within ten (10) working days, excluding Saturday, Sunday, and holidays, after the award of the contract to him.
