Renovation of a swimming pool in Prince Rupert, British Columbia. Completed plans call for the renovation of a swimming pool.

The City is seeking proposals from qualified Proponents to replace the existing pool filters with new filters of a similar capacity. Proposed filters must meet or exceed the flow rate and filtration surface area of the existing filters. Proposals for two-filters to replace the existing three-filters system are welcome, provided that the Contractor is able to get them into the filter room, given the existing door opening of 3 feet. Proposals requiring any major structural changes to the wall or door frame will not be considered, but minor (non-structural) changes to the door or door frame are permitted provided that they are handled by the Contractor. Filter units that require minimal or no changes to existing piping and fit within a similar footprint to that of the existing filters are preferred. Please include manufacturer's specification literature with your submission. If applicable, the Contractor will be responsible for any repairs or alterations to piping that is affected during this project. The Contractor is responsible for: Removal and disposal of existing pool filters, filter media, associated valves, filter support structures and piping as required. Selection of similar capacity replacement filters that meet or exceed specifications of existing filters. Proposed filters must fit within a similar foot print of existing filters. Existing filter information provided in Section 3.3 Specifications. Supply and installation of new pool filters and associated components necessary for the installation and operation of the filters. Provision of all equipment, material, and labor to complete the project. This includes but is not limited to three (3) new filters, filter media, all associated valves, any necessary piping, sight glasses, fittings and glue. Cleanup of jobsite as required daily and on completion of the work, including removal of construction debris. This includes disposal of filters and filter sand in accordance with local regulating authorities. Ensuring that the building is secured and safe at all times. Start-up and commissioning of the new filters. Staff training on the operation and maintenance of the new filters. One electronic copy in PDF format of installation drawings, commissioning report, operation and maintenance manuals and warranty certificates.
