Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Toronto, Ontario. Completed plans call for site work for a sidewalk / parking lot; for paving for a sidewalk / parking lot; water / sewer project; and road / highway.
Supply of labour, equipment, and materials to construct a dedicated bus roadway along the existing at-grade portion of the alignment of the SRT ROW between Kennedy Station and Ellesmere Station in accordance with the Contract Documents. Bid Bond: 3180000 $ Official bid documents must be obtained from www.merx.com and bid submissions must be done through the Merx platform. SCOPE OF WORK The Work of this Contract, designated Contract J35-13 – SRT Bus Replacement - Conversion of SRT ROW to Busway, consists of: The supply of labour, equipment, and materials to construct a dedicated bus roadway along the existing at-grade portion of the alignment of the SRT ROW between Kennedy Station and Ellesmere Station. The scope of Work is described in the Contract Documents and includes, but is not limited to, the following: Relocate and protect existing fibre optic cables. New guiderail along the east side of the SRT ROW. Pavement and drainage Work between Kennedy Station and Ellesmere Station including, but not limited to: Remove existing SRT rail grout pads and cut steel rail anchors flush with existing concrete slab. Remove existing vegetation, topsoil, earth, curbs and islands, concrete sidewalk, cables, and light standards. Remove any remaining material within the SRT ROW to allow for repurposing of existing SRT ROW trainway to accommodate bus traffic and maintain existing concrete slab to be used as a base of the new busway pavement structure. Rehabilitate, clean, and prepare existing surface of concrete ditch to sufficient levels and fill existing concrete ditch along the SRT corridor as specified to align with existing adjacent concrete slab. Rehabilitate, clean, and prepare existing surface of concrete slab to sufficient levels and conditions for placement of asphalt pavement. New Hot Mix Asphaltic Concrete paving between Kennedy Station and Ellesmere Station. Install pavement markings along new busway between Kennedy Station and Ellesmere Station, and on roadways. Install precast concrete curbs and regular curb and gutter along busway Relocate, adjust, and/or install storm drainage structures, including catch basins and inlets, catch basin maintenance holes, and grade. Provide a street connection and traffic signals between the existing service road, north of Kennedy Station, and the SRT ROW. Widen existing service road between Kennedy Station and the SRT busway. Remove existing turf, earth, fence, and relocate cables at Tara Avenue and construct new bus platforms and shelters on both southbound and northbound, new sidewalk on the west side of ROW, and all associated Works. Pedestrian busway traffic signal and crosswalk at Tara Avenue bus stop. New bus platforms and shelters at Lawrence East Station and Ellesmere Station, and roadway connections from new busway to street network, including crosswalks, civil works, grading, and restoration of disturbed areas. (Property easements outside of the TTC property limit to be acquired by Feb 2026). Construct roadway base, asphalt top, and binder courses to match existing grade and as indicated on Contract Drawings. Lawrence East Station: Cut back existing cantilevered SRT platform edges. Lawrence East Station: Provide groove finish to concrete surface. Provide light poles and foundations, including structural supports and new light fixtures between Kennedy Station and Ellesmere Station. Remove electrical and communication cables between Kennedy Station and Ellesmere Station, including messenger wires. Remove existing pavement marking. Install traffic signal posts, signal heads, electrical plant, and all associated Works including, and activate signals. Road signage. Construct new Protection Wall and associated structures at existing pedestrian bridge at Tara Avenue. Provide bridge monitoring program during construction. Conduct bridge assessment of existing pedestrian bridge at Tara Avenue prior to construction activities and prior to scheduling commissioning for final acceptance. Protect existing trees and other structures. Earth grading and installation of temporary and / permanent sediment protection measures and structures. Supply and install temporary and permanent traffic signals, including activation and maintenance during construction at Kennedy Station service road, and remove temporary signals after completion of the proposed Works. All vehicular and pedestrian traffic staging and traffic control within the construction zone. Excavate and properly dispose of excess earth, topsoil, turf, asphalt, unit pavers, and concrete surfaces to the limits required by the Contract. Provide temporary protection and support to the existing underground and aboveground utilities during construction, including supporting poles and other structures. Furnish and install tactile walking surface indicators at designated curb ramp locations as indicated on Contract Drawings.
