Site work and new construction of a mixed-use development in Ocala, Florida. Working plans call for the construction of a playground / park / athletic field; and for site work for a playground / park / athletic field.
As of February 25, 2025, this project is in the final planning phase and design is complete. It is anticipated bidding will commence in the near future. Architect firm information and a firm timeline for start of construction has not been determined. This project is included in the FY 2025-2029 CIP. Norm Westbrook Park is a resource-based park providing opportunities for equine use and walking trails. This project consists of a multiphase approach over the next 3 years. Phase 1 was completed in FY 2022. Phase 2 will include a playground, pavilion, multi-purpose field, and a park standard restroom. The restroom facility is a new park standard twohole ADA restroom at the park. The restroom will include a well, septic system, lighting and power, mirrors, paper towel and soap dispensers, grab bars, and ADA sidewalks. Facilities management department involvement will include overseeing the construction of a 350+/- sf restroom facility. The restroom facility will be located near the existing pedestrian parking lot. Architectural and engineering is slated for FY 2024 with an anticipated construction in FY 2025.
