Question Deadline Mar 07, 2025 SCOPEOF WORK The Scope of Work at the Knowlton Building shall include the following. Asbestos Abatement The Contractor shall be made aware that the caulking and glazing compound located on the exterior window and door units and associated trim components contains asbestos. Removal shall include all loose, peeling, deteriorated and/or dislodged caulking and glazing compound from these components in order for repainting to be performed. In some cases, damaged and/or rotted wood will be required to be removed and replaced which will require removal of the wood component as well as any affected caulking or glazing compound. All window screens shall be removed, marked with location, and stacked in one area. Work Procedures All workers shall don appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) including tyvec suits, respirators equipped with HEPA filters, gloves, safety glasses, etc. building utilizing caution tape and asbestos signs at a sufficient distance to keep non-authorized personnel out of the work area. If lifts are to be used for the work, the basket area and/or platform on the lift shall also be demarcated with asbestos signs. A remote two (3) stage decontamination unit shall be established directly adjacent to the Regulated Area. All windows, doors or vents on the same side of the building where active work is taking place shall be closed. All windows or doors within the Regulated Area shall be sealed at the interior side with 6-mil polyethylene sheeting (2 layers) and duct tape. All air conditioners shall also be turned off and any units within the Regulated Area shall be sealed with 2 layers of six mil polyethylene sheeting and duct tape. Windows, doors or air conditioners located within 15 feet to each side of the act
