This project provides for the resurfacing of the Turnpike travel lanes. Work will be accomplished by milling 2.5", paving 2" of an SMA wearing course, replacing Sonic Nap Alert Patterns, and applying Permanent Preformed Patterned Reflective Pavement Markings. Maintenance and protection of Turnpike traffic is also included. Work items include, but are not limited to: 363,445 SY Micro Milling, 1/2" Depth 363,445 SY Milling of Asphalt Pavement Surface, 2" Depth 39,981 TON Stone Matrix Asphalt Mixture Design, Wearing Course, PG 76E-28HP, 10 to <30 Million ESALS, 12.5 MM mix, SRL-E 146,963 EA Sonic Nap Alert Pattern (S.N.A.P.) 258,100 LF 6" Permanent Preformed Patterned Reflective Pavement Marking 5,943 LF 8" Permanent Preformed Patterned Reflective Pavement Marking 616,367 LF 4" Standard Pavement Markings, Paint & Beads 205,455 LF 4" Highly Reflectorized Temporary Polyurea Pavement Markings 68 LF 24" Standard Pavement Markings, Pant & Beads, White Milepost 67.59 is located approximately .39 miles east of the Irwin Interchange, Exit 67, and Milepost 75.58 is located approximately .08 miles west of the New Stanton Interchange, Exit 75, in Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania. An electronic bid bond, from an approved vendor, with corporate surety, in the amount of five (5%) percent of the bid must be submitted with the proposal as bid security. The bid security of the three (3) low bidders will be retained until the execution of the contract. (The normal time for execution of the contract is approximately four [4] weeks.) A Prequalification Certification and Applicable Capacity Rating assigned by the Prequalification Office of the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation is a necessary prerequisite for bidding on this project. The opening and listing of bids not meeting all the terms and conditions of the bid advertisement or bid procedures does not act as a waiver or modification of any requirements contained in the bid advertisement or bid procedure. The Provisions of the Pennsylvania Prevailing Wage Act of August 15, 1961, P.L. 987, as amended, together with the rates and regulations promulgated by the Secretary of Labor and Industry applicable thereto, shall apply to this contract.
