Demolition and site work for a mixed-use development in Villa Park, California. Completed plans call for the demolition of a swimming pool; for site work for a swimming pool; water / sewer project; and water / sewer project.
This project includes but is not limited to draining of the pool; demo and removal of portion of concrete pool deck, coring of pool wall for inlet removal; excavation, backfill, compaction and bidding of piping trenching; plumbing of return line through wall penetrations, hand pack and sealing of each inlet location; concrete deck replacement. LICENSES, DIR REGISTRATION, CONTRACT TIME: Prime contractor must possess valid CSLB contractor license for Class B and the Bidder must carry C-53 or subcontract to C-53 and be registered with the DIR (Labor Code 1725.5). CONTRACTOR should consult the General Conditions, Supplementary Conditions, Special Conditions, and General Requirements regarding Milestones and Liquidated Damages. CUPCCAA: This Project is being let in accordance with the informal bid requirements of the California Uniform Public Construction Cost Accounting Act ("CUPCCAA") set forth in Public Contract Code section 22000 et seq. (specifically, the informal bidding procedures in Section 22032(b)). Bidders shall comply with any requirements set forth in the CUPCCAA including all guidelines and requirements in the current California Uniform Public Construction Cost Accounting Commission Cost Accounting Policies and Procedures Manual. All contractors submitting bids must be on the District's current list of approved contractors pursuant to Public Contract Code section 22034. SUBCONTRACTORS: Each bidder shall submit with his bid, on the form furnished with the contract documents, a list of the designated subcontractors on this project as required by the PCC 4100 et seq. BONDS: Separate 100% payment and performance bonds are required and shall be in the form set forth in the contract documents. All bonds (bid, performance, and payment) must be issued by a California admitted surety as defined in California Code of Civil Procedure section 995.120. ALTERNATES: Any additive or deductive alternates to the base bid used to determine the lowest bid will be considered using the method specified in the Notice Inviting Bids and in accordance with Public Contract Code section 20103.8. DISQUALIFICATIONS: Prime contractors who fail to meet all the preceding requirements, and the PlanetBids and Project document requirements are non-responsive and ineligible for award. Contact with non-Purchasing District personnel will result in immediate disqualification. BASIS FOR AWARD: District shall award the Contract, if it awards it at all, to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder based on the total Project award amount and who provides all the required bonds, insurance, and documents as required in the Project documents. The District reserves the right to reject any and all bids and/or waive any irregularity in any bid received or in the bidding. SCOPE OF WORK: The Contractor shall furnish all labor, materials, equipment, tools, and utility and transportation services, and perform and complete all work required in connection with Bid No. 2425-941C Pool Repair at Villa Park High School ("Project") in strict accordance with the Contract Documents enumerated in Article 7 below. The Contractor shall be liable to the District for any damages arising as a result of a failure to comply with that obligation, and the Contractor shall not be excused with respect to any failure to so comply by an act or omission of the Architect, Engineer, Inspector, Division of the State Architect (DSA), or representative of any of them, unless such act or omission actually prevents the Contractor from fully complying with the Contract Documents and the Contractor protests, in accordance with the Contract Documents, that the act or omission is preventing the Contractor from fully complying with the Contract Documents. Such protest shall not be effective unless reduced to writing and filed with the District office within seven (7) days of the date of occurrence of such act or omission preventing the Contractor from fully complying with the Contract Documents.
