This is a service / maintenance or supply contract in Welland, Ontario. Contact the soliciting agency for additional information.
The Welland Water Treatment Plant (WTP) is located at 4 Cross Street in Welland, Ontario, on the south side of Merritt Island with the Welland Recreational Canal on the west side and the Welland River on the east side. The original WTP was constructed in 1910 to provide safe drinking water to the City of Welland. The Region of Niagara will construct a new WTP on the north side of the existing High Lift Pump Station (HLPS) and Reservoir to expand the plant capacity and replace existing infrastructure. As part of this project, the existing Low Lift Pump Station (LLPS) will be refurbished with new pumps and a new raw water main that will connect the LLPS to the new WTP. To facilitate these upgrades, the project requires a Subsurface Utility Engineering (SUE) study of the piping and utilities within the area around the WTP. The scope of work is as follows: - Complete SUE Level B and Level A investigations in accordance with the ASCE Standard 38-22: Standard Guideline for Investigating and Documenting Existing Subsurface Utilities. Quality Level D, C, B (QL-D, QL-C, and QL-B) investigations are required for the entire project area outlined in the sketch provided in Appendix D showing limits for field investigation services. - It is anticipated that SUE Level A test pit investigations will be required as part of this assignment. The location and quantity of QL-A test pits will be determined after submittal of the SUE Level B investigation report. Plan to attend a meeting with the Region and Engineer to review findings of the QL-B report and confirm the quantity and location of QL-A test pits. Question Deadline: Thu Mar 6, 2025 12:00:00 PM (EST) Duration in months: 12
