Renovation of a medical facility in Toronto, Ontario. Conceptual plans call for the renovation of a medical facility.
This Request for Proposal is issued by UHN for the purpose of soliciting Proposals from interested Proponents for the provision of electrical engineering consulting services to complete the detail design and study recommendations for the Eaton/NU electrical infrastructure replacement at UHN. Toronto General Hospital consists of the Eaton building, Norman Urquhart (NU) building, Max Bell Building, RFE building, Peter Munk Building and Gerrard Wing. This project will focus on the Noman Urquhart and the Eaton Buildings. A large portion of the electrical infrastructure in these two buildings are original to the building and past their useful life. In addition to being at end of life, several switchboards are at or near capacity due to program changes over the years, there are also bottlenecks which do not allow the facility to use the full capacity of the emergency generators. Both these buildings are multipurpose facilities that house a variety of operating rooms, research facilities, and other critical medical services. The Work is to be performed from the contract award date (anticipated to be May 2025) for a period of five (5) years. TIMELINE: RFP for detailed design and study recommendations has closed.
