This RFSQ is the first stage of a competitive selection process (the “Competitive Selection Process”) described further at Section 3.0 below. Based on a review of the received Responses, BC Hydro intends to select, in accordance with the terms of this RFSQ, a limited number of Respondents (the “Qualified Suppliers”) for participation in one or more subsequent Request for Proposals (“RFP”) processes, which may lead to an award of one or more contracts for the Services (each, a “Contract”). The list of Qualified Suppliers will be valid for a period of three years from the date of issuance of the notice to Qualified Suppliers under Section 9.1 of this RFSQ, unless terminated earlier by BC Hydro by written notice to the Qualified Suppliers, and BC Hydro does not expect to issue any further requests for qualification in respect of the Services during that period. Only Qualified Suppliers will receive further notices in respect of the RFP process(es) relevant to the Services and be invited to participate in the RFP process(es) when/if issued. BC Hydro invites interested parties to submit responses to this RFSQ indicating their interest in, and qualifications for, long term, system wide services for the design, supply and installation of generating station turbines and generators. This RFSQ is the first stage of a competitive selection process. Based on a review of the received responses, BC Hydro intends to select a limited number of shortlisted respondents (the "Qualified Suppliers") for participation in one or more subsequent Request for Proposals (RFP) processes to cover BC Hydro's initial requirements for the Revelstoke Generating Station as well as the remainder of its currently anticipated, and potentially future, generating and turbine asset replacement/refurbishment program requirements. BC Hydro's generating and turbine asset replacement and refurbishment program is planned to span the next 10 to 20 years. Scope consists of approximately 20 projects to install, upgrade, replace or refurbish generators, turbines, and other related systems and equipment over approximately 35 generating units, and across approximately 15 generating facilities.
