Reference Number : 0000378326 KUB is receiving bids for one (1) 80 ekW Standby Duty Rated Generator as specified in the attached specification sheet. Please provide specification documentation of your bid submission for evaluation and follow the bid guidelines shown in the evaluation bid document provided. KUB operates under FOB Destination and all pricing should be included in your submission. Question Deadline 03/07/2025 at 10:00 AM ET Questions are submitted online : Yes . Overview of KUB - KUB is a governmental agency existing under the laws of Tennessee and an independent agency of the City of Knoxville. KUB provides electricity, gas, water, and wastewater services to more than 473,000 customers in Knoxville and parts of seven surrounding counties. The KUB electric system is one of the nation's most dependable, providing uninterruptible service 99.98% of the time. The generator set shall be listed to UL 2200 or submitted to an independent third-party certification process to verify compliance as installed. 1. IEEE446 Recommended Practice for Emergency and Standby Power Systems for Commercial and Industrial Applications. 12. UL508. 13. UL2200. 14. UL142. 15. Designed to allow for installed compliance to NFPA 37, NFPA 70 (Article 700,701,702) NFPA 99 and NFPA 110. A. Installation: 1. The work includes supplying and installing a complete integrated generator system. 2. The system consists of a diesel generator set with related component accessories. B. Fuel System: 1. The Contractor shall provide a full tank of diesel fuel for the completion of all testing. General: a. The submittal shall include prototype test certification and specification sheets showing all standard and optional accessories to be supplied, schematic wiring diagrams, dimension drawings, and interconnection diagrams identifying by terminal number, each required interconnection between the generator set, the transfer switch, and the SCADA system. Engine-generator submittals shall include the following information: 1. Factory published specification sheet. 2. Manufacturer's catalog cut sheets of all auxiliary components such as battery charger, control panel, enclosure, etc. 3. Dimensional elevation and layout drawings of the generator set enclosure and transfer switchgear and related accessories. 4. Weights of all equipment. 5. Concrete pad recommendation, layout and stub-up locations of electrical and fuel systems. 6. Interconnect wiring diagram of complete emergency system, including generator, switchgear, day tank, remote pumps, battery charger, control panel, and remote alarm indications. 7. Engine mechanical data, including heat rejection, exhaust gas flows, combustion air and ventilation air flows, fuel consumption, etc. 8. Generator electrical data including temperature and insulation data, cooling requirements, excitation ratings, voltage regulation, voltage regulator, efficiencies, waveform distortion and telephone influence factor. 9. Generator resistances, reactances and time constants. 10. Generator locked rotor motor starting curves. 11. Manufacturer's documentation showing maximum expected transient voltage and frequency dips, and recovery time during operation of the generator set at the specified site conditions with the specified loads. 12. Manufacturer's and dealer's written warranty. A. Generator Set Requirements: 1. The generator set shall be Standby Duty rated at 80ekW, 1,800 rpm, 0.8 power factor Wye connected, 480V, three phase, 60 Hz, including radiator fan and all parasitic loads. 2. Generator set shall be sized to operate at the specified load at a maximum ambient of 105 degrees F and altitude of 1,000 feet above sea level. 3. Standby Power Rating: 4. Power is available for the duration of an emergency outage. 5. Average Power Output: 70 percent of standby power. 6. Load: Varying. 7. Typical Usage per Year: 200 hours. 8. Maximum Expected Usage per Year: 500 hours. 9. Typical Application: Standby. 10. Vibration isolators shall be provided between the engine-generator and heavy duty steel base. 11. The generator set shall be sound attenuated to a level suitable for a residential area. The average reading at normal operation shall be 65-70 dB, tested at a minimum of 20 feet from the generator set. 12. Engine block heater. Thermostatically controlled and sized to maintain manufacturers recommended engine coolant temperature to meet the start-up requirements of NFPA-99 and NFPA-110, Level 1. 13. Battery Charger. A 10-ampere automatic float to equalize battery charge. The battery charger shall be UL listed. 14. Battery rack, and battery cables, capable of holding the manufacturer's recommended batteries, shall be supplied.
