The School Board of Palm Beach County, Florida invites Certified Roofing Contractors, licensed by the State of Florida and prequalified by the School Board. The School Board reserves the right to waive minor technicalities in any Bid. Question Deadline Apr 10, 2025 at 2:00 PM BIDS SHOULD BE BASED UPON THE FOLLOWING DESCRIPTION OF WORK: • Remove existing modified bituminous roofing system including any repaired areas from top surface down to the existing metal deck substrate to remain. Also remove all metal flashing, deck vents, and all related fasteners. • Remove existing translucent roof system down to existing structural members to remain. Also remove all metal flashing, coping, vents and all related fasteners. • Refer to structural drawings for any modifications, additions, and/or reinforcements of existing structural members. • Install a Soprema two-ply modified roofing membrane system with asphalt bitumen and modified bitumen granule cap sheet and insulation over existing metal deck and as required per district master specification 07 52 00. • Fabricate and install only stainless-steel flashing, including but not limited to, copings at parapet walls, metal edges, and counter-flashings. Provide fully soldered seams at all transition details including inside and outside corners, detail terminations, and intersections between different details. At all counter-flashings in stucco walls, remove 4" of stucco, install vertical flange of new counter-flashings on base of existing masonry wall. Install new wire lath and stucco over vertical flange, and repaint stucco to match existing adjacent surfaces. • Replace damaged roof items not directly associated with replacement of new roof membrane, such as roof top equipment covers. Contractor to make inventory of damaged items and include in bid. • The contractor shall field verify all existing conditions, including, but not limited to, roof area sizes, roof slopes, and existing roof materials and details. the contractor shall base the bid upon providing a complete roofing replacement project, as required, to provide a watertight roofing assembly which will remain watertight for a minimum period of 30 years except for those exceptions described in district master specification section 07 52 00. The contractor shall advise the architect of any discrepancies between actual field conditions and the construction documents, prior to submission of the bid.
