Mill & Overlay approximately 4 miles of I-69 from 0.95 miles north of I-269 to 5.1 miles south of Church Road, in Desoto County. Project Completion : 157 Working Days Value Estimate Range - $5,000,000 - $10,000,000 For Federal Aid Projects the attention of bidders is directed to the contract provisions governing selection and employment of labor contained in the bid proposal. Minimum wage rates for Federal Aid Projects have been predetermined by the Secretary of Labor and are subject to Public Law 87-581, Work Hours Act of 1962, as set forth in the contract provisions. Unless otherwise set out in the bid proposal, all other projects are subject to the predetermined minimum wage rate set by the U.S. Department of Labor under the Fair Labor Standards Act. When a DBE goal is contained in the contract, the award will be contingent upon the Contractor satisfying the DBE requirements. Bid bond, signed or countersigned by a Mississippi Resident Agent or qualified non-resident agent, with Power of Attorney attached or on file with the Contract Administration Engineer of the Department, a Cashiers Check or Certified Check for five (5%) percent of bid, payable to State of Mississippi, must accompany each proposal. The attention of bidders is directed to the provisions of Subsection 102.07 pertaining to irregular proposals and rejection of bids. MSDOT - Call 07- Mill & Overlay - I-69 The work to be accomplished using the pay items and corresponding specifications set forth in this contract is for milling and overlaying Interstate 55/69, beginning 0.95 miles north of I-269 (Log Mile 14.1021) and going northerly for approximately 3.5 miles to 0.512 miles south of Church Road (Log Mile 17.1221). It shall be the responsibility of the Contractor to protect the roadway and all existing structures, such as bridges and curb, from damage occurring as a result of the Contractors operations. Damages to existing features caused by the Contractors operations shall be repaired or replaced at no cost to the Department. At bridge ends and at the end of workday, a taper of one vertical inch (1) for each three horizontal feet (3) shall be provided. Random clearing shall be performed from the beginning of the project to the end of the project limits and median of the mainline as directed by the Engineer. Following the MDOT Tree Management Policy, right-of-way shall be cleared to a minimum distance of seventy feet (70) from the edge of pavement or to the right-of-way line, whichever distance is less. Overhanging vegetation shall be trimmed to a minimum heigh of thirty feet (30) above the ground elevation at the edge of the clearing limits. It is the intent of this Contract for vegetation, except for any merchantable timber that the Contractor desires, to be mulched onsite and left in place. Mulched material shall be spread such that no more than four inches (4) in depth of material is placed in any one location. This work shall be paid for under pay item 201-D: Random Clearing, per station. Each side of the roadway will be measured separately. Clearing within two feet (2) of fences, utilities, and other obstructions as directed by the Project Engineer within the ROW is to be omitted in order to avoid damages. here the above clearing limits would leave a stand of trees in the median less than 20 feet wide, those may also be removed at the discretion of the District Engineer. If roadside foreslopes are steeper than 3:1 or include other roadway features that would make tree removal infeasible, risk assessment should be conducted by the Project Engineer and Highway Safety Division. QA: The ramps will have OGFC on 9.5 HT *The value for this project is based on a financial range. The value is listed as the highest possible cost from the range provided by a stakeholder or official project document.
