The Scope of Work (SOW) for the Project is to provide project management, alternatives analysis, preliminary engineering, diagrammatic layout development, and environmental documentation for the widening of the existing South Lake Houston Parkway from Beltway 8 to Aqueduct Road and the extension of the facility from Aqueduct Road to Foley Road and Diamond Head Boulevard. The Project shall examine the overall corridor and complete a route and design study to identify the best alignment and overall connection points between Beltway 8 and the transportation network on the southeast side of Lake Houston. The current alignment and cross-sections are planning concepts and should be further evaluated for feasibility and cost effectiveness. The route and design study should be integrated into the environmental process to allow for consistency with the NEPA process. Following the route and design study, the project will be designed with a diagrammatic layout to be used for future PS&E development. The diagrammatic layout is intended to be similar to schematic design for an off-system roadway. The Project is funded by federal transportation funding. As such, the Project is subject to the requirements of federally funded transportation projects. The design will be locally managed by the District with TxDOT reviewing and approving the preliminary engineering and environmental package. The Prime Consultant will be responsible for the management of the project, including the performance of all sub-consultants to accomplish the delivery of all documents and services.
