Highwood Rd Area Water Main Replacement Bidder shall submit with the bid a certified check, cashier's check or bid bond in the amount of ten percent (10%) of the total price bid, but not in excess of $20,000, payable unconditionally to Franklin Township, along with a Certificate (Consent of Surety) with Power of Attorney for full amount of bid price from a Surety Company authorized todo business in the State of New Jersey and that said Surety will furnish a Performance and Payment Bond in amounts of100% of successful bidder's contract. Question Deadline 03/07/2025 General Scope of Contract For the Lump Sum and Unit Prices bid under the various Contract items, the Contractor shall furnish all materials, equipment, and labor required to perform work to remove and replace an existing 6” and 8” Cast Iron, 6” Ductile Iron Pipe as well as 6” AC water main with an 8” Concrete Lined DIP Class 52 water mains. All work will be Highwood Rd, Old Lane Highwood, Neuville Rd, Radio Ct and a section of Hawthorne Dr. Replacement work also includes replacing tees, removing and replacing gate valves, replacing hydrants and valves, replacing curb boxes and curb shutoffs and installing TOWNSHIP SUPPLIED meter pits and yokes for residential homes and apartments at all locations, for backfilling of trenches as described in the Specifications, and as directed by the Public Works Manager. House service lines which are classified galvanized or lead by the Public Works Manager shall be replaced with copper lines from the main to an existing meter location within the residence, apartment or as directed by the Public Works Manager. The work shall also include all materials, equipment and labor required to perform the work to provide a temporary by-pass of water to all residents. The Contractor shall be responsible for passing bacteria and pressure test of the temporary by-pass and newly installed and charged water main this shall include but not be limited to the corporation, copper lines and curb shutoff. Additionally, copper from the curb box to the meter pit shall be pressure tested. Before placing into service, the Township shall use a third party NJ State certified testing laboratory. Bacteria test samples are taken on Tuesdays each week.
