Site work for a water / sewer project in Ingonish Beach, Nova Scotia. Design plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.
Ingonish Wastewater Treatment and Collection System. Project includes construction of collections systems and two (2) modular, high-efficiency Membrane Bioreactor (MBR) treatment system plants. One plant will have an average daily flow of 27,700 gallons per day and the collection system will service the south side of South Ingonish Harbour. The second phase of the project will continue north around the harbour to the Parks Canada boundary and consists of an additional wastewater treatment plant and collection system for residential and commercial properties. The proposed infrastructure under consideration includes: Approx. 5.7 km of gravity sewer, 140 manholes, 1.5 km of force main, 4 lift stations (including one on Parks Canada lands), and 6 low-pressure pump systems. TIMELINE: The first phase of the project has been commissioned. Dillon Consulting has been engaged for this phase of the project and preliminary design is underway. Scope of work and schedules for tender and construction may be confirmed in fall 2026.
