Renovation of a library in Rosemount, Minnesota. Completed plans call for the renovation of a library.
Dakota County Facilities Management Adam Montain 651-438-4351 Adam.Montain@co.dakota.mn.us LOCATION: Dakota County Robert Trail Library (14395 South Robert Trail, Rosemount, MN 55068) SCOPE OF WORK The contractor is going to remove 2 sets of sliding doors and install 2 sets of 3 aluminum swing doors as a replacement. Materials to Purchase The following is a list of material the contractor will need to provide for this work. It is not a complete list of materials but covers most of the larger items needed: o 6 Aluminum store front doors o 2 LCN 4640 Door Openers o 4 ADA panels compatible with the 4640 door openers o 2 Aluminum door frames for the purchased doors o 4 Von Duprin 99 o QEL o Night Latch o Dummy Trim o Cylinder Dogging o Color to match existing. o 2 Von Duprin 99 o QEL o Night Latch o Dummy Trim o Cylinder Dogging o Color to match existing. o 6 EPT-10 power transfers. o 2 removable center mullions o New windows tint much match existing windows tint. o Sidelights as needed based upon proposed design. Contractor Responsibilities The following is a list of tasks the contractor is responsible to complete. o Remove and dispose of the automatic sliding doors currently in place. o Remove and dispose of the automatic sliding door frames. o Submit the proposed material and door design to the project manager for approval. o Wire or subcontract an electrician to wire the high voltage door openers. o Install 3 swing doors (6 doors total) in place of each set of sliding doors. o The west most door on each set will be a single door with an LCN 4640 door opener. o The center and east doors on each set will be double doors with a removable center mullion. o Each door will be fitted with an EPT-10 for the QEL. o The ADA door on each set will have a Von Duprin 99 crash bars. o The center and east door on each set will have a Von Duprin 99 crash bars. o Install sidelights as needed based upon approved design. o Gather all necessary construction permits. o Meet ADA requirements for swinging entrance doors. o Meet all NFPA standards for swinging entrance doors. o Keep the visual aesthetic of the library. o Provide a point of contact for scheduling construction dates and times. o Dakota County will be using other contractors for parts of this project. o Minimize disruption to the library which will remain open during this work. o Coordination with the project manager and the library will be needed. o Weekend/Overnight/Holiday/Early Morning work is allowed and encouraged. o Ensure all electrical work for the new doors is up to code. o Repair, replace, or otherwise correct deficient materials and workmanship without additional cost to the owner. o Follow all county guidelines for contractors. Dakota County Staff Responsibilities The following is a list of tasks the county is responsible to complete for the contractor. o Supplying and installing the door cores. The County has a preferred contractor for this work. o Integrating the card access, door contacts, and QEL devices into the existing card access system. The county will be using a separate contractor for this work. o Schedule o April 1, 2025 - Work can begin. o November 1st, 2025 - Work must be completed. ** Note the schedule may vary. A good faith effort must be made in making sure the schedule is being adhered to. Restrictions Contractor cannot remove the book sensor directly on the interior of the library. Addendums
