The Operations Department of the Cedar Rapids Community School District requests your proposal for goods and/or services. Bids will be evaluated promptly after opening. After an award is made, a bid tabulation summary will be sent to all companies who submitted a bid. Bid results will not be given over the telephone or prior to award. Bids may be withdrawn any time prior to the scheduled closing time for receipt of bids. Do not include Federal or State Tax in costs submitted. The Operations Department and/or Board of Directors reserve the right to reject any and all proposals or any part thereof, and to waive informalities and to enter into such contracts or contracts as shall be deemed in the best interest of the Cedar Rapids Community School District, in the County of Linn, State of Iowa. No emailed or faxed responses will be accepted SCOPE OF WORK ? Contractors can schedule a pre bid meeting with the Construction Project Specialist prior to bidding the project. ? Contractor shall verify measurements and quantities provided with this scope of work, all quantities provided are approximate. ? Install new ¼” APA rated birch plywood underlayment, A or B sanded. Allow material to condition to the installation location per manufacturer recommendations. Luan underlayment is prohibited. Sand plywood edges to correct height discrepancies. ? Prepare underlayment to receive new flooring materials by filling in control joins, holes, indentations, etc. with latex cement underlayment compound compatible with flooring adhesives. ? Base bid shall include furnishing and installing new underlayment and Armstrong Commercial Flooring Spettro English Gray ST932 LVT in the following areas (existing flooring removed by others): o Classroom 106 - 850 SF o Classroom 107 - 107 SF ? Base bid shall include the removal of existing flooring, furnish and install Mohawk Group Live and Learn Collection - 961 Eastside carpet tile flooring and vinyl base in the following areas: o IMC / Library 222 - 3,690 SF ? Alternate bid #1 furnishing and installing new underlayment and Armstrong Commercial Flooring Spettro English Gray ST932 LVT in the following areas (existing flooring removed by others): o Classroom 315 - 390 SF o Classroom 318 - 905 SF ? Provide a minimum of 1 complete case of LVT for attic stock. ? New Johnsonite #40 black 4” vinyl cove base shall be installed in all areas receiving new flooring. ? Install underlayment, flooring, and base in accordance with manufacturer’s instructions. ? Fit all joints tightly. ? Roll the flooring with a heavy roller to attain full adhesion. ? Install transition strips where flooring materials change. ? Install edge strips at unprotected or exposed edges where flooring terminates. ? Install sealant to match flooring where LVT terminates against walls, door frames or other objects, where base will not be installed. ? Protect all school property from damage. Any damage by the contractor shall be reported to the project manager and repairs shall be made immediately at the contractor’s expense. ? Perform necessary cleaning at the end of each day to ensure a clean and safe work area. ? Flooring installation can be performed anytime between July 1, 2025 and August 1, 2025. ?
