The Operations Department of the Cedar Rapids Community School District requests your proposal for goods and/or services. for the removal of the existing flooring and installation of a new flooring at Kennedy HS as requested by the Cedar Rapids Community School District. Bids will be evaluated promptly after opening. After an award is made, a bid tabulation summary will be sent to all companies who submitted a bid. Bid results will not be given over the telephone or prior to award. Bids may be withdrawn any time prior to the scheduled closing time for receipt of bids. Do not include Federal or State Tax in costs submitted. The Operations Department and/or Board of Directors reserve the right to reject any and all proposals or any part thereof, and to waive informalities and to enter into such contracts or contracts as shall be deemed in the best interest of the Cedar Rapids Community School District, in the County of Linn, State of Iowa. No emailed or faxed responses will be accepted This project includes the removal of existing, preparation, furnish and installation of new Luxury Vinyl Tile and Carpet Tile flooring at Kennedy High School as specified in the project manual. SCOPE OF WORK Contractors may schedule a pre bid meeting with the Construction Project Specialist prior to bidding the project Contractor shall verify measurements and quantities provided with this scope of work, ALL QUANTITIES PROVIDED ARE APPROXIMATE Base bid shall include the following (shown in pink on the attached plans): o Remove and dispose of 382 SF of flooring and vinyl base in the following rooms: Office 129 - 200 SF Office 129A - 182 SF o Furnish and install 1,736 SF of LVT flooring and vinyl base in the following rooms (shown in green on the attached plans): Office 71B - 73 SF Office 71C - 73 SF Office 71D - 111 SF Classroom 115 - 737 SF Classroom 117 - 742 SF o Furnish and install 1,265 SF of carpet tile flooring and vinyl base in the following rooms (shown in green and pink on the attached plans): Office 133 - 371 SF Office 133A - 100 SF Office 133B - 116 SF Office 133C - 116 SF Office 133D - 90 SF Office 133E - 90 SF Office 129 - 200 SF Office 129A - 182 SF Alternate bid #1 shall include the following (shown in blue on the attached plans): o Remove existing flooring, furnish and install 1,015 SF of LVT flooring and vinyl base in the following rooms: Staff room 130 - 830 SF Work room 131 - 185 SF Prepare surface to receive new flooring materials by filling in control joins, holes, indentations, etc. with latex cement underlayment compound compatible with flooring adhesives. LVT shall be Mohawk Group Matuto Plus Stone Series - 915A Frostbite Stone Carpet tile shall be Mohawk Group Live and Learn Collection - 969 Brookwood New Johnsonite #40 black 4" vinyl cove base shall be installed in all areas receiving new flooring. Install flooring and base in accordance with manufacturer's instructions. Fit all joints tightly. Roll the floor with a heavy roller to attain full adhesion. Furnish and install transition strips where flooring materials change, edge strips at unprotected or exposed edges where flooring terminates. Protect all school property from damage. Any damage by the contractor shall be reported to the construction manager and repairs shall be made immediately at the contractor's expense.
