The Operations Department of the Cedar Rapids Community School District requests your proposal for goods and/or services. Bids will be evaluated promptly after opening. After an award is made, a bid tabulation summary will be sent to all companies who submitted a bid. Bid results will not be given over the telephone or prior to award. Bids may be withdrawn any time prior to the scheduled closing time for receipt of bids. Do not include Federal or State Tax in costs submitted. The Operations Department and/or Board of Directors reserve the right to reject any and all proposals or any part thereof, and to waive informalities and to enter into such contracts or contracts as shall be deemed in the best interest of the Cedar Rapids Community School District, in the County of Linn, State of Iowa. No emailed or faxed responses will be accepted This project includes removal of existing flooring, furnishing and installing new LVT flooring, and base, furnishing and installing new carpet and base at Roosevelt Middle School as specified. SCOPE OF WORK Contractors can schedule a pre bid meeting with the Construction Project Specialist prior to bidding the project. Contractor shall verify measurements and quantities provided with this scope of work, all quantities provided are approximate. Prepare underlayment to receive new flooring materials by filling in control joins, holes, indentations, etc. with latex cement underlayment compound compatible with flooring adhesives. Base bid shall include removal of existing flooring (underlayment to remain), furnish and install Mohawk Group Matuto Plus Stone Series - 915A Frostbite Stone LVT in the following areas: o Classroom 324 - 940 SF o Corridor 325 - 370 SF o Classroom 326 - 885 SF o Classroom 328 - 775 SF o Classroom 330 - 775 SF o Classroom 332 - 775 SF o Classroom 307 - 650 SF Base bid shall include the removal of existing flooring, furnish and install Mohawk Group Live and Learn Collection - 963 Heritage carpet tile flooring and vinyl base in the following areas: o IMC / Library 314 - 3,760 SF Provide a minimum of 1 complete case of LVT for attic stock. New Johnsonite #40 black 4" vinyl cove base shall be installed in all areas receiving new flooring. Install underlayment, flooring, and base in accordance with manufacturer's instructions. Fit all joints tightly. Roll the flooring with a heavy roller to attain full adhesion. Install transition strips where flooring materials change. Install edge strips at unprotected or exposed edges where flooring terminates. Install sealant to match flooring where LVT terminates against walls, door frames or other objects, where base will not be installed. Protect all school property from damage. Any damage by the contractor shall be reported to the project manager and repairs shall be made immediately at the contractor's expense. Perform necessary cleaning at the end of each day to ensure a clean and safe work area. Flooring installation can be performed anytime between June 5, 2025 and August 1, 2025.
