The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers - New England District is issuing a Solicitation Notice for Bridge Painting and Concrete Repairs, Barre Falls Dam, Hubbardston, MA. THE WORK CONSISTS OF: Contractor shall provide all labor, materials, equipment, and transportation to paint the spillway bridge and perform concrete repairs at Barre Falls Dam, Hubbardston, MA. Work shall include cleaning, preparation, and painting of the steel end frames, bearings, and ends of the girders of the spillway bridge. Existing paint on these items contains lead as confirmed by sampling and testing of the existing paint performed in November 2024. In addition to painting, the work also includes replacement of the existing expansion joint sealants. Option task items include repair of concrete spalling at the locations shown on the contract drawings. The Government anticipates that fall protection will be required for this project.
