DESCRIPTION OF WORK: The work to be performed shall include, but not be limited to: Metrolink/SCRRA coordination, coordination with various utilities, temporary shoring, track and structure monitoring, design, construction and removal of launching slabs and thrust blocks, fabrication of post tensioned Marine Way box bridge undercrossing, fabrication of Borrego Channel Box Culvert Structure, removal of portion of existing recycled water line, track roadbed grading and drainage improvements, temporary railroad crossing installation/removal, embankment excavation; removal of tracks, ties, ballast, subballast, and other track materials to facilitate box bridge and channel structure phased installation; installation of Marine Way box bridge undercrossing and Borrego Channel Box Culvert Structure in separate Absolute Weekend Windows, embankment fill, structural backfill, installation of Concrete #15 Power Operated Turnout, Concrete double point derail, subballast, ballast, ties, tracks and other track materials, resurfacing of tracks, destressing tracks, grading and roadway structural section installation within undercrossing, utility conduits on bridge deck; roadway and architectural elements within the undercrossing, formliner procurement, construction of portions of retaining walls 1, 2, 3, and 4; lighting and electrical work within undercrossing, signing, temporary pavement delineation, stockpile of embankment and structure backfill, grading, and other items not mentioned here, but are required by the plans and the Special Provisions. Prime Contractor must possess a valid Class A license. At the time of submitting the bid, the Bidder shall be licensed as a contractor in accordance with the provisions of California Business and Professions Code Chapter 9, Division 3. All electrical/lighting work under this Contract shall be considered specialty in nature. Any Contractor and/or subcontractor proposing to perform this specialty work must possess a valid Class C-10 license prior to award of contract. Persons performing the work of an electrician shall be certified in accordance with California Labor Code Section 3099. Proof of Certification shall be provided to the City prior to commencement of work. Start/Delivery Date May 5, 2025 All work shall be completed in a total of Four Hundred and Ninety (490) Working Days from the date specified in the Notice to Proceed. Liquidated damages shall be Thirteen Thousand and Two Hundred ($13,200) per Calendar Day, for each and every Calendar Days delay in finishing the work in excess of the number of Working Days prescribed above.
