Renovation of a mixed-use development in Washington, District of Columbia. Completed plans call for the renovation of a military facility and municipal facility.
The goal of this project is to renovate the kitchen and exhaust at the United States Capitol (House Side) to include all new equipment, hoods, plumbing, power, lighting, and fire protection systems. In order to facilitate the removal of infrastructure, extensive demolition of existing concrete slabs, wall finishes and other architectural elements must occur. The House kitchen has an area of approximately 6,100 square feet on two floors. The House exhaust modifications include two systems with total volume of approximately 30,000 CFM. Significant reconfiguration of piping systems is required in order to accommodate the required ductwork. Serveries and dining rooms adjacent to the kitchen renovations must remain operational throughout construction. The kitchens themselves will be non-operational during construction. All work will be performed at night, Monday-Friday. All scope is one CLIN, there are no option CLINs *This project is being bid by invitation only.
