Site work for a civil project in Lillooet, British Columbia. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; water / sewer project; and bridge / tunnel.
The project objectives include mitigating and implementing more comprehensive stabilization measures to stabilize the upper half of the slope including a shotcrete/anchor system and drainage after removal of slide debris near near Terzaghi Dam Bridge River 2 Intake Tower. The Bridge River 2 Generating Station Intake (BR2 Intake) is located on Carpenter Lake. The BR2 Intake is accessed via a pedestrian bridge connecting to an access road. The parking area for the access pedestrian bridge is located underneath an approximately 35 m high overburden and partly bedrock slope. The slope was continually ravelling and posed a risk to workers below since construction in 1960. The slope was surficially stabilized in 2018. However, in 2019-2020, a more deep-seated slope failure occurred on the top half of the slope resulting in damage to the existing surficial stabilization measures. The project objectives include mitigating and implementing more comprehensive stabilization measures to stabilize the upper half of the slope including a shotcrete/anchor system and drainage after removal of slide debris.
