Renovation of a medical facility in Sacramento, California. Completed plans call for the renovation of a medical facility.
Subject to conditions prescribed by UC Davis Health, Facilities Planning & Development Division, responses to the Prequalification Questionnaires are sought from prospective California current and active "B" licensed General Contractors (GCs) for the following project: PROJECT NO. 9557740 SESP 1P742 1P745 Scanner Replacement University will accept prequalification questionnaires from general contractors having completed remodel projects that meet all the criteria listed in the Prequalification Questionnaire which in part includes: 1. Project work took place in one of the following medical facility environments: a. Tenant improvement, remodel or new construction in a licensed OSHPD Type 1, multi-story facility, operating 24 hours/day, 7 days/week, providing patient care. 2. Project took place in a location immediately adjacent to a fully occupied area that remained in operation during construction. 3. Project work took place where infection prevention measures were required throughout construction following ICRA Class IV or V protocols. 4. Project work included the replacement or new installation of at least one (1) of the following medical equipment items: Nuclear Medicine Camera, PET/CT Scanner, CT Scanner, MRI, Interventional Radiology. 5. Project had a full-time Superintendent present in the above-described settings during ALL construction activities - days, evenings, swing, weekends. 6. Project was completed within the last five (5) years and accepted as complete prior to January 31, 2025. 7. Construction contract cost was at least $2,900,000 as awarded (excluding change orders). Project Description: Remodel of the existing class 1 diagnostic CT space 1P742 on the first floor of the surgery and emergency services pavilion (SESP), building to prepare for two new CT rooms that will receive new GE Revolution Apex CT equipment. The project also includes a new shared control area 1P740, updated patient toilet 1P741 for accessibility, updated existing reading room 1p743, updated existing dx qc 1p40b work area, update to patient dressing 1P715 and updated staff lockers 1P706. Work includes but is not limited to non-bearing partitions, lead shielding, finishes, casework, furniture system, equipment anchorage, floor slab cutting and patching, and modification to mechanical, plumbing, and electrical systems Estimated Construction Cost: $2,900,000. Estimated Construction Start: August 15, 2025, Estimated Completion: November 15, 2026. Project Delivery Method: Design-Bid-Build. The University intends to utilize the Best Value selection method for this project. The best value to the University is the selection resulting in the best combination of price and qualifications based on the criteria set forth in the bidding documents. Editable copies of the Prequalification Questionnaire will be available for obtain online. To prequalify, Bidders must agree to comply with all proposal conditions including state prevailing wages, 10% bid bond, 100% payment and performance bonds, and insurance requirements. University reserves the right to reject any or all responses to this notice, to waive non-material irregularities, and to deem bidders prequalified to submit proposals for the project. All information submitted for prequalification evaluation will be considered official information acquired in confidence, and the University will maintain its confidentiality to the extent permitted by law. Every effort will be made to ensure that all persons have equal access to contracts and other business opportunities with the University within the limits imposed by law or University policy. Each Bidder may be required to show evidence of its equal employment opportunity policy. The successful Bidder and its subcontractors will be required to follow the nondiscrimination requirements set forth in the Bidding Documents and to pay prevailing wages at the location of the work. In addition, the University is committed to promoting and increasing participation of small business enterprises (SBEs) and disabled veteran business enterprises (DVBEs) relating to all goods and services covered under the awarded agreement, subject to any and all applicable obligations under state and federal law, and University policies. The awarded contractor shall make best efforts to provide qualified SBEs and DVBEs with the maximum opportunity to participate. The work described in the contract is a public work subject to section 1771 of the California Labor Code. No contractor or subcontractor, regardless of tier, may be listed on a Bid for, or engage in the performance of, any portion of this project, unless registered with the Department of Industrial Relations pursuant to Labor Code section 1725.5 and 1771.1. This project is subject to compliance monitoring and enforcement by the Department of Industrial Relations. The successful Bidder shall pay all persons providing construction services and/or any labor on site, including any University location, no less than the UC Fair Wage (defined as $15 per hour) and shall comply with all applicable federal, state, and local working condition requirements.
