EFFECTIVE JUNE 1, 2026: The government has posted Amendment No. 0004 hereunder this Notice (please refer to the Attachments Section). ** ** The work involves restoring approximately 429 acres of historically significant natural communities, including wetlands, prairies, savannas, woodlands, and stream habitats. Major efforts include remeandering Hastings Creek, restoring instream habitat, eradicating invasive plant species, disabling existing agricultural drain tiles, and establishing native plant communities based on site-specific hydrology and topography. The project is intended to enhance native habitat and biodiversity, improve ecological connectivity, increase water quality and flood resilience, and expand recreational opportunities on the site. All activities will be performed on land owned by the Lake County Forest Preserve District. *The value for this project is based on a financial range.
