Construct repairs for Lake Park Boulevard Over Mad Creek - Bridge Deck Overlay Project including all labor, materials, and equipment necessary for 640.0 SY of Pavement Scarification, 640.0 SY of Deck Over-Depth Overlay (Class O PCC), 82.3 SY of Deck Repair, Class A, Special, 62.2 SF of Concrete Repair, 1.00 LS Bank Shaping, 2 EACH Safety Closure, 1.00 LS Traffic Control, and 1.00 LS Mobilization. ach bidder shall accompany its bid with bid security, as defined in Iowa Code Section 26.8, as security that the successful bidder will enter into a contract for the work bid upon. The bidder's security shall be in an amount equal to 5 (five) percent of the total amount of the bid. The bid shall contain no condition except as provided in the specifications. If the bidder fails to execute the contract and to furnish an acceptable performance, payment, and maintenance bond or provide a Certificate of Insurance within ten (10) days after acceptance of the bid by the City, the bid security may be forfeited or cashed by the City as liquidated damages. The successful bidder will be required to furnish a bond in an amount equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price, said bond to be issued by a responsible surety approved by the City Council and shall guarantee the faithful performance of the contract and the terms and conditions therein contained and shall guarantee the prompt payment for all materials and labor and protect and save harmless the City from claims and damages of any kind caused by the operations of the Contractor, and shall guarantee the work against faulty workmanship and materials for a period of four (4) years after its completion and acceptance by the City Council. The work under the contract shall commence within ten (10) days after date set forth in written Notice to Proceed.All work shall be completed by May 31, 2025, subject to any extensions of time which may be granted by the City Council. Liquidated damages in the amount of Five Hundred Dollars ($500.00) per consecutive calendar day will be assessed for each day that work shall remain uncompleted after the end of the contract period, with due allowance for extensions of the contract period due to conditions beyond the control of the Contractor. The City of Muscatine reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to waive informalities, and to enter into such contract, or contracts, as it shall deem to be in the best interest of the City.
