Contractor agrees to provide to the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) removal and installation of existing and new Fire Alarm System and deficient Fire Sprinkler System as described herein: Contractor shall provide all labor, equipment, tools, permits, plans (including floor and Computer-Aided Design (CAD) designs), travel, fees, taxes, and incidentals necessary to decommission, remove, and legally dispose of the existing fire alarm system and all associated components (including wires, strobe lights, pull stations, fire bells, fire alarm panel, and any other fire alarm related components). Contractor shall also furnish, install, and commission a new fire alarm system with 24-hour battery backup and all necessary notifications, including new wiring, strobe lights, pull stations, fire bells, fire alarm panel, annunciators, smoke detectors, heat detectors, duct detectors, and any additional components necessary to meet all current fire codes. Furthermore, one (1) year of fire alarm monitoring service shall be included. In additional to the fire alarm system work, Contractor shall provide all necessary services to decommission, remove, and legally dispose of one (1) post indicator valve, two (2) fire sprinkler riser gauges, (22) outdoor fire sprinkler heads, and related components, and furnish, install, and commission one (1) new post indicator valve, two (2) fire sprinkler riser gauges, (22) outdoor fire sprinkler heads, and related components for the Caltrans HQ warehouse. Bidder must have, at time of quote submittal and for the duration of the contract, a valid, current C-10 Electrical Contractor and a C-16 Fire Protection Contractor license issued by the CSLB, for the type of work to be performed. Bidder shall obtain, pay for, and maintain, in good standing, all necessary licenses and permits to accomplish the work. Bidders will be considered non-responsive unless proper licensing requirements are met. An invalid license will result in rejection of the bid. Positive verification of a valid license issued by the CSLB will be performed by Caltrans (Bus. and Prof. Code Section 7028.15). The total bid proposal for this Agreement must not exceed $461,000.00. A bid amount more than $461,000.00 will be deemed non-responsive and will be rejected.
