Town of Orford, Orford Bandstand Reconstruction The Town of Orford is accepting sealed bids to reconstruct the Bandstand located on the East Common, Route 10, Orford, NH The Bandstand was built on a substandard foundation (one rock at each post location), and with untreated floor and post framing material. As a result, after 4 years the floor decayed and the building began to sink. The finished floor was removed, exposing the rotted members and the post trim was loosened to show that the post framing was beginning to decay. Bids to rebuild the bandstand will include the cost for: Removing the existing floors and electric Suspending or removing the roof Removing the wind braces, railings and posts Prepare the site for an Alaskan Slab with appropriate edge thickness and rebar spacing Pour and trowel finish the concrete Rebuild post to original appearance using pressure treated framing material and PVC trim Re-install the wind braces and railings Reconnect the front steps Re-route the electricity Reclaim the site For questions, please call 603- 353-4889 or e-mail orfordselectboard@orfordnh.us The Town reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids.
