Culvert Replacement: Includes clearing, the removal of approximately 160 feet of 36" RCP culvert and installation of approxioately 160 feet of RCP culvert, drop inlet, and other ancillary items. Sealed bids shall be marked on the exterior : Foxhole Landfill - Culvert Replacement, and with the name, address, and North Carolina Contractor License Number of the Bidder. A Performance and Payment Bond will be required for the successful Bidder in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the Contract price, conditioned upon the faithful performance of the Contract, payment of all persons supplying labor or furnishing materials, and payment of all liabilities incurred in connection with the Work under this Contract. Each Bidder must be appropriately licensed as a General Contractor in compliance with NCGS 87. No Bidder may withdraw their Bid within 60 days after the date of Bid opening. The Owner reserves the right to reject any and all Bids and any part of a Bid and to waive formalities and technicalities in the bidding procedure. Copies of the Contract Documents may be obtained at the offices of Smith Gardner, Inc. located at 14 N. Boylan Avenue, Raleigh, North Carolina 27603, upon payment of $150.00 (non-refundable) for each set of documents. Each request for Contract Documents must be accompanied by a check made payable to "Smith Gardner, Inc." If sets are to be mailed, a non-refundable, fifty dollar ($50) postage and handling charge will be required. Digital copies of the Contract Documents are available from the ENGINEER at no cost. Request for digital copies of documents should be sent to spencer@smithgardnerinc.com The Contract Time as defined shall begin on the date specified on a written "Notice to Proceed" from the Consultant to the Contractor. The Contract Time for Substantial Completion of the Work shall be thirty (30) calendar days commencing on the Effective Date of the "Notice to Proceed". The Work shall be substantially completed as defined in the General Conditions. The Contract Time for Final Completion shall be thirty (30) calendar days commencing on the Effective Date of the "Notice to Proceed". Final Completion of the Work will be considered to have been reached when all work is completed and ready for final payment in accordance with the General Conditions. It is further agreed that the Owner shall have the right at its discretion to extend the time for completion of the Work. Question Deadline 03/29/2025 Questions regarding the intent or Scope of Work must be delivered in writing to Spencer Hollomon, P.E. via email at spencer@smithgardnerinc.com and, to be given consideration, mist be received at least five (5) days prior to the date fixed for the opening of bids. Appropriate responses, where required, will then be issued by addendum to all plan holders prior to the date scheduled for the submittal of bids.
