Renovation of a mixed-use development in Frederick, Maryland. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.
The base bid shall include without limitation, labor, materials, bailing, shoring, removal, overhead, profit, insurance (including builder's risk insurance, if applicable) etc. The work shall be completed within 180 calendar days from the start date of the contract. If the work is not completed within the time period specified, the contractor will be liable for liquated damages of $ 250.00 per calendar day as specified in the "General Conditions". Contractor shall pay an electronic transaction fee to the State in the amount of one percent (1%) of the total contract sales. The electronic transaction fee is calculated based on all sales transacted under the contract, minus any returns or credits. The electronic transaction fee shall not be charged directly to the customer, e.g., as a separate line item, fee or surcharge but shall be included in the contractor's bid. Alternates as applicable, is in excess of $100,000.00. 1) Bid Bond in the amount of 5% 2) Payment and Performance Bonds in the amount of 100% The Project Cost Classification for this solicitation is: Small Procurement Category III, under $200,000. Minority Business Enterprises are encouraged to respond to this Solicitation General Scope of Work: The successful contractor shall provide all labor, equipment, tools, materials, and supplies required for the replacement of the exterior metal double doors and windows, and all related hardware for the Maintenance Bldg. located at The Maryland School for The Deaf (Frederick) 101 Clarke PL, Frederick, MD 21701. All work is to be completed according to the terms, conditions and specifications. B. Description of Work: 1. The work consists of removal and replacement of 3 steel metal double exterior doors, 4 single metal exterior doors and the main entrance double metal exterior doors, including the frames and all related hardware, all new doors and windows along with the hardware are to be replaced in kind, the new doors and windows are to be Caulked and watertight sealed. 2. The work consists of removal and replacement of 11 wooden single pane windows and hardware. Replace with new vinyl Double hung windows and hardware, all window trim is to be wrapped with aluminum, caulked and watertight sealed. 3. All framing installations, door installation, window installation and hardware installation will be done per the manufacturer's specifications. All doors and trim are to be primed and painted per the facilities color of choice. 4. All work shall be accomplished within (180) calendar days from the date designated by the notice to proceed. The deadline for questions has been established as April 7 2025 at 11am to assure that there is enough time to allow the A/E to provide responses and Addendum issuance if necessary.
