This project is to rehabilitate and stabilize the existing Centre and East concrete dams located on Lake Cecebe. These dams are situated in the Municipality of Magnetawan, approximately 60 km from both Huntsville and Parry Sound. The Centre dam was constructed in 1957, while the East dam was built in 1993. The Centre and East dams are each about 3 m high. The Centre dam is a single sluiceway while the East dam consists of four sluiceways and an overflow weir. Stoplogs are used to maintain the water level. During the construction phase, the nearby Main Dam, which is not part of this project, will manage all water control and discharge capacity for up to a 20-year flood event. The purpose the project is to preserve the functionality and extend the useful life of the dams. Condition inspection and dam safety studies have identified the need for repairs and improvements. The Ministry of Natural Resources is seeking a contractor to construct the concrete and steel element repairs and replacements, install anchors, prepare a laydown area and manage water. The scope of work includes: - Clearing trees from the laydown area - Cofferdams, including design - Concrete patch repairs - Replacement and/or recoating of steel gains, sills, gain covers, pier nosings, walkway supports and grating - Replacement of stoplogs - Pedestrian railing and gate replacement - Post-tensioned rock anchors for the spillway piers and overflow weir.
