The work under this Contract generally consists of in-place recycling and 1-1/2" HMAC surface on two streets, two-course surface treatment on portions of approximately eleven streets, and milling and 1-1/2" HMAC in multiple locations in Karnes City. Estimate: $552,000 Any Proposal received after closing time will be returned unopened. No Proposal may be withdrawn within thirty (30) days after the date on which Proposals were opened. A cashier's check, certified check or acceptable bidder's bond, payable to the City of Karnes City in the amount not less than five (5%) percent of the bid submitted, must accompany each bid as a guarantee that, if awarded the Contract, the bidder will enter into a Contract and execute bonds within fifteen (15) days of award of Contract as required by the Contract Documents. The bidder's deposit shall be forfeited and become the property of the Owner in case the bidder neglects or refuses to enter into a Contract and furnish bonds acceptable to the Owner within fifteen (15) days after bidder's proposal has been accepted. The bid deposit of all except the three best bidders will be returned within fifteen (15) days after the opening of bids. The bid deposits of the three best bidders will be returned within 48 hours after the executed Contract and required bonds have met final approval by the Owner. The Owner reserves the right to reject any and all bids and waive any informalities and irregularities in bids received.
