Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Salem, Oregon. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; for paving for a road / highway; sidewalk / parking lot; sidewalk / parking lot; and water / sewer project.
a. Furnish all labor, materials, equipment, and incidentals required to perform cement treatment of on-site soils. b. This Work consists of the treatment of on-site fine-grained (silty and clayey) soils with a cement admixture to produce a high strength soil-cement subgrade material. 1) Soil-cement shall consist of on-site fine-grained soil materials, Portland cement, and water; uniformly mixed, compacted, finished, and cured in accordance with this Section. 2) Cement treatment will include optional stabilization of subgrade or amendment of structural fill materials, as may be required for the project. The target 7-day unconfined compressive strength is 80 pounds per square inch. The cement ratio to achieve the target strength is effected by many variables, including the moisture content of the soil. Initially, assume a dry density of 100 pounds per cubic foot and a minimum cement ratio of 6 percent by dry weight if treatment occurs during the summer months (July through September) and higher if the amendment is completed during other times of the year or when the soil moisture content exceeds 25 percent. A minimum of 7 to 8 percent by dry weight, placed in multiple passes with multiple tilling passes may be required due to the higher clay content and moisture of the surface 2 to 3 feet of the subgrade. Multiple tilling passes may be required to adequately break down clayey soils and adequately mix cement and soil for stabilization. Provide a minimum curing of 4 days between treatment and construction traffic. To protect the cement treated surfaces from abrasion or damage, cover the finished surface with a minimum of 4 inches of imported granular fill. Question Deadline 03/27/2025 Questions received less than five (5) days prior to the date for opening of bids will not be answered. Project Category Code: Street/Road Repairs, Sidewalks/Curbs/Gutters, Water Utilities Description: The work includes approximately 1,600 linear feet of street and utility improvements.
