Questions will be accepted until 2:00 p.m., March 18, 2025 Fayette County is seeking qualified bidders to provide all material, equipment, and labor for installation of handrail along the Redwine Road multi-use path immediately north of Bernhard Road. The awarded contractor shall: Provide and install approximately 360 linear feet of galvanized steel pipe handrail per details RW4, RW5, and GDOT standard detail 9031R provided as Exhibit 1. All joints shall be welded (GDOT certified is not required) to match look and finish of other handrail along Redwine Road. The handrail is to be installed between the multi-use path and the retaining wall. Care is to be taken to avoid damaging underground utilities, the multi-use path, and the retaining wall. Any damages to these items will be the responsibility of the contractor. Remove section of sod between header curb and retaining wall (shown in photo below) and prepare ground to form and pour approximately one cubic yard of Class B Concrete with a minimum thickness of four inches. Concrete shall be level and uniformly sloped in relation to header curb and retaining wall. Isolation joint shall be required between retaining wall and concrete.
