Demolition, site work, new construction and addition to a detention facility in Yankton, South Dakota. Completed plans call for the addition of a detention facility; for the demolition of a detention facility; for the construction of a detention facility; and for site work for a detention facility.
Yankton County is exploring the feasibility of constructing an addition to the existing jail. This two-story addition is anticipated to include space to hold eight juveniles and eight adults, additional supportspace, and an extension of the existing sallyport. The addition is anticipated to be constructed on the northeast portion of the existing jail (see Exhibit A) on approximately 3,200 SF of land currently used for parking. In addition, an existing secure detention room within the jail will be renovated into a padded cell. The total budget, including hard construction and soft costs, is $3 - $4 million dollars All questions are due no later than Friday, March 14, 2025 by 5:00 PM. no later than 5:00 PM on March 18, 2025.
