The Southern Region Emergency Operations Center project scope consists of the comprehensive demolition of existing conditions and new improvements of site and building infrastructure to support the mission critical functions of the California Governor's Office of Emergency Services Southern Regional Emergency Operations Center. The project shall be designed and built to meet or exceed the requirements of the Essential Services Buildings Seismic Safety Act (ESBSSA)b and be certified by DSA. The project will include an Office Building (approximately 34,000 gsf), a warehouse (approximately 20,000 gsf), a 120-foot-tall communication tower, a guard shack, trash enclosure, diesel generators, water storage tanks, and a sanitary sewer tank. The remaining site area will consist of landscaping, fencing, and storm water management improvements. The new utility facilities will require coordination with local utility companies for electrical, gas, cable/internet/low voltage communication, and the City and County for utilities such as storm drainage, wastewater, garbage, fire suppression, lighting, roadways for ingress/egress. Provide and perform all the required Materials Testing Inspection Services (MT&IS) including but not limited the requirements included in the design drawings and specifications. The project elements include the following: 1. Site Work - Work consists of grading, excavation and fill earthwork, two parking lots canopies, Ground Supported PV system, and around 3,250 LF of street construction, installation of new utilities, building pads, including communications and security systems installation, site lighting, parking, landscaping, fencing, concrete walkways, and a communication tower. 2. Emergency Operations Center (EOC) - This is an essential services building/DSA project. The EOC roof consists of bare metal decks over open web steel joists (OWSJ) and wide flange steel girders. The roof steel is supported by concrete bearing walls and steel HSS columns. The rooftop equipment is supported by concrete leveling pads and curbs over a 3.25" light weight concrete topping slab, as well as a 6" lightweight housekeeping pad directly under equipment. Equipment screening is provided by cantilevered structural steel framing. The EOC roof includes a pop-up skylight structure, framed by HSS steel columns and wide flange steel beams with HSS diagonal bracing. 3. Warehouse Building - This is an essential services building/DSA project. The EOC roof consists of bare metal decks over open web steel joists (OWSJ) and wide flange steel girders. The roof steel is supported by concrete bearing walls and steel HSS columns. The rooftop equipment is supported by concrete leveling pads and curbs over a 3.25" light weight concrete topping slab, as well as a 6" lightweight housekeeping pad directly under equipment. The equipment is screened by cantilevered structural steel framing. The warehouse includes an entry canopy structure framed by HSS steel columns and wide flange steel beams with HSS diagonal bracing. 4. Emergency Generator Yard - This is an essential services/DSA project. This work consists of CMU wall construction, reinforced concrete slab, and a single-ply roofing system over steel roofing system over the electrical room only. 5. Communication Tower - This is an essential services/DSA project. The communication tower is design build. 120' height comprised of 60' lattice, 40' monopole, and 20' pipe. Tower supported by reinforced concrete pier foundations. Tower includes feedline bridge. The estimated cost of construction for the project is $94,260,000.00.
