Fire Alarm Electrical System Upgrade, Green River Correctional Complex, Department of Corrections, Central City, Kentucky. The Project involves replacement of the campus wide fire alarm system monitoring the Green River Correctional Complex. Work of the Project will be performed in all buildings or structures located inside and outside the security boundary of the GRCC. The existing fire alarm initiating and alarm devices, control panels, circuits and associated components shall be removed. The replacement addressable fire alarm system shall consist of initiating and control devices, control panels, software, circuits, and all associated components for a complete campus wide fire alarm system. In addition, the project includes the construction of an underground fiber-optic circuit that will loop the complex and interconnect the building fire alarm systems. All work must be performed in a sequenced effort coordinated with the GRCC. The Contract Documents include a suggested construction phasing schedule. However, it is the responsibility of the Contractor to prepare and submit a schedule of work. Bids will be received from Prime Contractors on a Lump Sum Bid Basis for the total project. All phases of work shall be bid to and through the Prime Contracting Firms. Bids shall be submitted in the manner herein described and on the official bid document form included with the conditions and specifications and shall be subject to all the conditions as set forth and described in the Bid Documents. Bidders shall attach the Official Bid Document and Bid Bond (if required) as a single combined attachment when submitting their electronic bids. If using a certified check, please upload copy of check with your Official Bid Document in lieu of bid bond. All bids shall be accompanied by a bid guarantee (in the form of a bid bond or certified check) of not less than five (5%) percent of the amount of the lump sum base bid. A 100% Performance Bond and a separate 100% Payment Bond shall be furnished by the successful bidder. All bonding and insurance requirements are contained in the Instructions to Bidders and/or General Conditions. Bonds should be executed by a surety company authorized to do business by the Kentucky Secretary of State and the Kentucky Department of Insurance within the Commonwealth of Kentucky. Estimated Length of Project: 360 (Substantial Completion) + 30 (Final Completion) No bidder may withdraw his bid for a period of thirty (30) days after the date set for the opening of bids. The Division of Engineering and Contract Administration, Commonwealth of Kentucky, reserves the right to reject all bids and to waive all informalities and/or technicalities where the best interest of the Commonwealth may be served. Site Walkthrough notes: To attend this site visit meeting, you must have a NCIC background check and Central Registry Check. The NCIC background check and Central Registry Check form is in the specification book after notice to contractors. The form must be emailed to Brant Durall, brant.durall@ky.gov no later than March 24, 2025, 3:00 PM, Central Time. If your background check is not turned in by this date you will not be permitted to enter the facility. No questions will be answered at the site visit. All technical questions shall be emailed to the Architect/engineer of record for this project. All procurement questions shall be directed to buyer of record for this project. NO QUESTIONS WILL BE ANSWERED AT THE SITE VISIT. ALL TECHNICAL QUESTIONS SHALL BE EMAILED TO THE ARCHITECT/ENGINEER OF RECORD FOR THIS PROJECT. ALL PROCUREMENT QUESTIONS SHALL BE DIRECTED TO BUYER OF RECORD FOR THIS PROJECT.
