Renovation of a service station / car wash facility in Monterey, California. Completed plans call for the renovation of a service station / car wash facility.
Contractor shall provide all labor, materials, parts, supplies, equipment, tools, licenses, permits, travel, disposal fees, and incidentals necessary to provide Roof Services at Monterey Maintenance Station (MS) in Monterey County. Question: 03/20/2025 5:00 p.m Questions regarding this IFPQ must be submitted in writing. Bidders are encouraged to submit their written questions an estimated value of greater than $5,000.00, but not more than $461,000.00 *The value for this project is based on a financial range. The value is listed as the highest possible cost from the range provided by a stakeholder or official project document. A. Contractor shall expose, remove, and dispose of the existing damaged and leaking roofing material, sheathing and any damaged insulation and wood. Rain gutters, downspouts, and roof extrusions, if necessary, shall be removed and protected on site (see Section F below). Contractor shall prepare the substrate, furnish, and install new roofing material, rain gutters and downspouts, fasteners, roof ventilation, and other materials which are required to prepare work area, to repair roof with a complete waterproof assembly meeting the performance requirements specified herein. B. Contractor shall carefully remove the existing roofing material so that no damage occurs to the supporting roof deck, joists, fascia, or any other part of the building. Damage caused by Contractor during the roof removal shall be replaced with like material of equal or better quality at Contractor's expense, which shall include the same section depth, lip width, and gauge thickness of the member damaged. C. Contractor shall remove and replace all existing rotted, or water-damaged sheeting, plywood, framing or decking as needed with equivalent or similar materials, ensuring that the replacement matches the same section depth, lip width, and gauge thickness of the damaged member. Materials shall be pre-approved by Caltrans Contract Manager. D. The new roofing system shall be subject to Caltrans Contract Manager's approval. No work shall begin without prior written approval from Caltrans Contract Manager. E. If any turbines, attic vents, aluminum rain gutters, rigid insulation, flashing metal, fascia board and down spouts are damaged during removal, Contractor shall replace to equal or better quality at no cost to Caltrans. F. Contractor shall apply temporary protection, such as tarp or plastic covering, and anchoring such material with wood lath nails, staples and/or fastening devices to ensure the structure will be watertight until roof repairs can be made. Plastic sheathing shall not be less than six (6) millimeters (mm) thick. G. Caltrans Contract Manager must approve new replacement materials and any work that may be required to repair hidden defects below roofing layer, including but not limited to, sheathing or roof supports prior to installation of the replacement materials. H. Contractor shall remove and reinstall 42 - 3'-3" X 5'-5" solar panels in Monterey MS Building 2 - Storage Building (Tools, Materials). The solar panels shall be removed and reinstalled by a professional solar panel installer. Contractor shall temporarily place the solar panels in a secured location indicated by Caltrans Contract Manager. Any damage to solar panels during the removal and installation of the panels will be at Contractor's sole expense. The solar panels shall function as intended after reinstallation.
