The Town of Clermont is accepting bids to widen, do a full-depth reclamation (FDR), and overlay the portion of Oxford Road between Main Street and U.S. 129. This road is approximately 2085 feet long. It is 18 feet wide and is to be widened 2 feet, making it a 20-foot roadway. Separate, sealed bids will be received for furnishing all labor, materials, tools, equipment, and incidentals necessary for the construction of the project. The attached map shows the area to be widened. From Main Street to about 1050 feet, there will be one foot added to each side of the existing road (the area marked in red). From the 1050 feet mark to the 1850 foot mark (blue color) the widening will shift to the north side of the road and will add the 2 foot to this side of the road. The remainder of Oxford Road which is approximately 200 feet (yellow) will shift the 2 foot widening to the south side of the road. At the intersection with 129 add 2 feet to the south side of the road. This project consists of: 1. A FDR of the entire road and 2. Adding 2 feet to the width during the FDR 3. Installing 2" of 19mm binder coarse 4. Overlay with 1.5" of 9.5mm surface coarse with lime. All work on Town of Clermont projects must be performed in accordance with provisions and requirements set forth by the Georgia Department of Transportation. TRAFFIC CONTROL The contractor shall provide Traffic Control to include all items necessary to maintain safe travel for the public. Traffic control shall include, but is not limited to, Road Closed signs, Barricades, Detour Signs, Flagging, Work Zone. Signs, Low/Soft Shoulder Signs, etc. All traffic control devices and work zones shall comply with the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD), the latest edition. All traffic control items shall be maintained by the Contractor at all times throughout the length of the project. Quantities are approximate only. The contractor is to field verify the widths of all roads. Each bid must include a signed bid sheet accompanied by a bid bond duly executed by the bidder in the amount of five percent (5%) of the bid. The successful bidder for this contract will be required to furnish a satisfactory performance bond and labor and material payment bond, each in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the bid. The contractor is required to complete this contract by July 1, 2025. Equal time extension will be given if the anticipated awarding date of the contract is delayed or an unusual number of inclement weather days occurs during the contract period. No bidder may withdraw his bid within 60 days after the actual date of the opening thereof. The Town of Clermont reserves the right to waive any informality or to reject any or all bids, evaluate bids, and accept any bid that, in its opinion, may be in the best interest of the Town of Clermont. The Town has the right to add to and delete from the contract once it has been awarded.
