Site work for a civil project in Cascade, Idaho. Conceptual plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.

The City of Cascade proposes improvements to the drinking water distribution facility including installing over 13,000 feet of new pipeline sized 6-in to 12-in, installing a new combination PRV/Check Valve station, installing 47 new service connections to bring existing connections up to City standards, installing 19 new fire hydrants to improve fire suppression coverage, installing 613 water meters and upgrading to an auto-read meter system, installing a new check valve in transmission line from existing well field, constructing a new well, and replacing an existing storage tank. Most of the pipelines installed will be replacements for existing pipelines and will be installed adjacent to existing lines. In addition, there are a few segments that will be placed in areas without pre-existing pipelines but will still be installed within or adjacent to existing roads. Therefore, nearly all the pipes will be installed in previously disturbed areas. A new drinking water well will be constructed on previously disturbed ground that will result in the conversion of up to 0.02 acres of the 500-year flood plain northeast of Highway 55 at approximately 850 S Main Street in Cascade. Installation of the combination PRV/Check Valve, check valve, new service connections, and fire hydrants will also require excavation adjacent to existing water lines in previously disturbed areas. Water meter installation will require installing water meters at each home, but disturbance will be minimal as existing meter boxes will generally be reused. The new storage tank is expected to be constructed at the same location as the existing Bogie Tank. The proposal is for construction of pipeline replacements, new pipelines, new pressure-reducing valve station, service connection upgrades, new fire hydrants, new water meters, a new well, and a new storage tank. Up to 0.02 acres of the 500-year flood plain will be affected by the improvements. Other minor temporary impacts may occur during construction; but no other long-termimpacts are expected. The City of Cascade has submitted an application to RD for funding of the proposal. FOR FURTHER INFORMATION CONTACT: Noe Ramirez, Area Director, USDA-RD, 2208 E. Chicago St, Ste CCaldwell, ID 83605, 208-779-3440 noe.ramirez@usda.gov. The method of Contractor Selection has not been Determined at this time.
